Quayside in Newcastle once again came alive as the second edition of the Red Bull Tyne Ride delivered another unforgettable evening of head-to-head racing. With the iconic Tyne Bridge as backdrop, thousands of fans packed the riverside to witness the UK’s toughest street enduro event.
Bolt Takes the Crown
After missing out last year, local hero Billy Bolt (Husqvarna) returned with a point to prove. The five-time SuperEnduro World Champion went head-to-head with defending Tyne Ride winner Jonny Walker (Triumph) in the final, securing two decisive wins to seal victory in front of his home crowd.
“I had to watch from the sidelines last year, so riding here this time there was only one goal in mind,” Bolt said. “The pressure was real as it’s my hometown, but the atmosphere was unreal. Amazing day, amazing crowd, amazing place to ride.”
Walker and Lettenbichler on the Podium
Jonny Walker, last year’s champion, had to settle for second place:
“The track was tougher this year, but the Newcastle crowd is always special. I’m happy with second and already excited for next year.”
Reigning Hard Enduro World Champion Manuel Lettenbichler (KTM) made his Tyne Ride debut and immediately praised the event:
“It was brilliant. The vibe was amazing, the course was super creative, and the crowd was unreal from morning practice all the way through the final.”
