Red Bull KTM Factory Racing is gearing up for the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship, set to kick off this Saturday in Pala, California. Chase Sexton and Aaron Plessinger are set to challenge for the 450MX Class title, while Tom Vialle and Julien Beaumer are poised for success in the 250MX season.
Joining the team for his first motocross campaign this season, Chase Sexton has quickly adapted to the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION outdoors. Fresh off a spectacular Main Event victory at Salt Lake City’s AMA Supercross Championship Finals last weekend, the 24-year-old is eager to carry his momentum into the upcoming season and aims to build upon his six-career 450MX overall wins.
Chase Sexton: “I’m ready for outdoors! The team and I made significant strides towards the end of the Supercross season to ensure I feel comfortable and at home with the bike and team. Winning in Salt Lake really boosted my confidence, and we want to maintain that momentum going into Pala MX this weekend. We’ll stick to our game plan and strive to improve with every race. With a solid group of people behind me, I’m determined to give it my all this motocross season.”
Aaron Plessinger is making his highly anticipated return after a premature end to his Supercross season due to a fractured elbow. The former 250MX National Champion has been diligently preparing in the background and is eager to get back to 100 percent fitness when the gates drop. Last year, the 28-year-old finished third in the final 450MX standings with three podium finishes to his name.
Aaron Plessinger: “I love racing outdoors, so I can’t wait for the season to start – outdoor fans are my people! I’ve been back on my bike riding motocross for a few weeks now after injuring my elbow during Supercross. It’s actually given me a bit of a head start on the other guys, so I guess that’s the silver lining to having my SX season cut short. I’m looking forward to interacting with the fans every weekend and enjoying the camaraderie with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team.”
Leading the charge in the 250MX Class is two-time MX2 World Champion Tom Vialle aboard his 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION. Fresh off his victory in the 2024 AMA Supercross 250SX East Championship, the Frenchman is poised for success. With previous Pro Motocross round wins under his belt, the 23-year-old is confident and aims to maintain consistency throughout the season.
Tom Vialle: “Entering the 2024 MX series with the confidence and momentum from winning the 250SX East title feels great. I’m returning to tracks that I raced on last year, which was the toughest part of transitioning to racing in the US – racing on new tracks every week. It definitely helped me to return to many of the same locations in Supercross, so I’m sure it will be the same for Pro Motocross this year. My goal is to be consistent and on the podium every weekend.”
As for 18-year-old sensation Julien Beaumer, the rookie is eager to embark on his first full season with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team outdoors. With a couple of appearances towards the end of last season, Beaumer showcased his potential with an impressive ninth-place finish overall at Budds Creek. His experience in the professional ranks will serve him well as he aims to improve with each round.
Julien Beaumer: “I’m really excited to race my first full season with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team outdoors. Making my pro debut and racing the final few MX rounds last season gave me some early experience, which will definitely help me this year. My goal is to learn and improve with every round – I want to be on the podium this season.”
With the AMA Supercross season behind them, Pro Motocross marks the second phase of the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) series. The championship kicks off this Saturday, May 25, at the Fox Raceway National and spans 11 rounds across the United States before concluding at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, on August 24.
