Red Bull KTM Factory Racing added more trophies to their 2024 MXGP haul, capping off a successful run of back-to-back race weekends in Lombok during the Indonesian leg of the FIM World Championship. Jeffrey Herlings delivered a flawless performance, securing first place at the Grand Prix of Lombok.
Jeffrey Herlings dominated both Saturday and Sunday, riding his KTM 450 SX-F to consecutive 1-1 finishes for the second weekend in a row. On Saturday, Herlings clinched the top spot in the RAM Qualification Heat, securing an advantageous gate position for Sunday’s motos and adding valuable points to his championship tally.
In the MX2 category, Andrea Adamo narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth overall after a strong second moto performance. Liam Everts secured sixth place overall, while Sacha Coenen’s small mistakes saw him finish ninth.
After a brief one-weekend break, MXGP returns to Europe for rounds 13 and 14, with the contrasting circuits of Loket and Lommel next on the schedule.
Jeffrey Herlings’ Thoughts
Jeffrey Herlings shared his excitement after the race: “Very happy. The KTM kept being so strong, so I have to give it up to the guys and the whole Red Bull KTM team; Pit, Roberts, and the crew at home. 1-1-1 for the first time this year so I’m very pleased. Tim was pushing today. This is a good way to head back to Europe, and I feel like we are getting better and better.”
