The other day, I was scrolling on YouTube and came across a very cool video by Manuel Lucchese. He took the Ducati Hypermotard 698 and turned it into something totally different.
Normally, the Hypermotard is a pure street Supermoto bike. But in this project, it became a light adventure and dual-sport style machine. And honestly, it looks awesome.
Rally front and navigation
The most eye-catching part is the rally-style front tower. It has:
-
Strong LED headlights
-
A navigation mount for longer rides
-
A cleaner and more aggressive look
It really changes the whole character of the bike.
Wheels, protection and setup
The front wheel is changed to 19 inches, while the rear stays 17 inches. This makes the bike more stable and better for light off-road riding. There is also a strong carbon skid plate to protect the engine.
Exhaust, seat and final look
A new exhaust system gives the bike a deeper sound. The seat is also custom-made for longer rides and better comfort. With the special graphics, the bike now looks like a real rally machine.
From the street to light off-road
According to Manuel, this bike will be used on the road and also on light adventure routes in Europe. It’s not a full hardcore off-road bike, but it’s definitely more than just a street motorcycle now.
My personal thoughts
While watching the video, I felt like this build created a new style between Supermoto, Dual Sport and Adventure. It’s different, unique and very bold. Some people will love it, some may not, but this project is definitely something special.
I really enjoyed watching this build from start to finish. If you like custom bikes and creative ideas, I totally recommend checking out Manuel Lucchese’s video on YouTube.
