Bolt Gains Time, Lettenbichler Holds the Lead – Romaniacs Day 3 Recap!

The third day of Red Bull Romaniacs 2025 delivered exactly what the hard enduro world expected — intensity, drama, and world-class racing through the Carpathians. With 181 kilometers of terrain that included signature sections like “Mayday Mom”, “Forgotten Trail”, and “Stairway to Heaven”, the riders faced one of the most challenging days yet.

DAY 3!

Gold Class: Bolt Charges, Lettenbichler Responds

Billy Bolt (GBR, Husqvarna) came out swinging, pushing hard from the start and clocking the fastest times at multiple checkpoints before the Service Point. He briefly overtook Manuel Lettenbichler (DEU, KTM) on Forgotten Trail, but Mani quickly fought back to retake the lead.

Both riders reached the LEATT LIVEmaniacs “Cliffhanger” stage locked in a bar-to-bar battle. While Bolt benefited from following Lettenbichler through the unfamiliar section, Mani remained composed and delivered under pressure — finishing ahead with just enough margin to hold onto the overall lead.

Bolt gained 3 minutes and 2 seconds, finishing the day with the fastest time, but still trails Lettenbichler by 13 minutes overall.

Mario Roman’s Steady Fight for Third

Despite not feeling 100%, Mario Roman (ESP, Sherco) put in another solid ride. He stopped mid-stage to check on his injured teammate Teodor Kabakchiev, who crashed and retired from the event. Roman regained his rhythm later in the Cliffhanger section, overtaking Michael Walkner to reclaim P3.

Standout Performers & Notable Moments

  • Graham Jarvis continues to amaze, finishing sixth for the day and showing that age is no limit in hard enduro.

  • Rising talents like Felix Baehker (DEU), David Cyprian (CZE), and Francesc Moret Clota (ESP) held strong in the top 10.

  • The day’s toughest news: Teodor Kabakchiev (BUL, Sherco) is officially out due to injury.

Silver Class: Elizondo Reclaims the Lead

Justin Elizondo (CRI) came back strong after Eddie Karlsson’s Day 2 win, reclaiming first place. Despite Karlsson’s fast battery swaps on his STARK VARG, he couldn’t match Elizondo’s pace on the technical terrain.

Silver Class Podium:
P1. Justin Elizondo (CRI)
P2. Tobin Miller (USA)
P3. Kornel Ott (HUN)

Bronze Class: Toughest Day Yet

Shorter in distance (161 km) but technically brutal, Day 3 pushed Bronze riders to their limits. Diego Chang (GTM) edged out Xing Yang (CHN) by under a minute in a nail-biting finish.

Bronze Class Podium:
P1. Diego Chang (GTM)
P2. Xing Yang (CHN)
P3. Benjamin Richter (DEU)

Adventure Ultimate: Jonny vs Pol

Jonny Walker (GBR, Triumph) crossed the line first today, but Pol Tarres (AND, Ténéré 700) still holds the overall advantage. Their duel will come down to the final day, with just minutes between them.

Adventure Ultimate Podium:
P1. Jonny Walker (GBR)
P2. Pol Tarres (AND)
P3. Kimonas Karabelas (GRC)

Adventure Lite: Sunderland Controls the Field

Sam Sunderland (GBR, Triumph) continues to lead with Dakar-style calm and consistency. Teammates Joop Nissink and Daniel Fernandez held their ground, reinforcing the cooperative spirit seen in this class.

Adventure Lite Podium:
P1. Sam Sunderland (GBR)
P2. Joop Nissink (NDL)
P3. Daniel Fernandez (COL)
