2025 Roof of Africa is almost here, ready to close this year’s FIM Hard Enduro World Championship in Lesotho from November 19–22. But there’s one major surprise: nine-time winner Wade Young won’t be racing after suffering a severe burns injury. Big blow for the fans — get well soon Wade.
With Mani Lettenbichler already crowned 2025 World Champion at Getzenrodeo, the final round in the Maloti Mountains will now be all about the battle for the remaining podium spots.
Billy Bolt has been struggling with fitness in the last two rounds, which allowed Mitch Brightmore to close the gap to just two points. Mario Roman is also pushing hard this season and still has a small mathematical chance for a final podium. It’s going to be tight at the top.
Gold Class – Big Names, High Stakes
This year’s Gold Class entry list includes Lettenbichler, Bolt, Roman, Brightmore, Teodor Kabakchiev, and Alfredo Gomez. Sadly, no Graham Jarvis this year, and Wade Young is out — but the field is still stacked with world-class riders.
Event Schedule
Everything starts in Maseru before the race moves deep into the mountains:
-
November 19 (Wednesday): Registration and scrutineering at the Avani Lesotho Hotel & Casino.
-
November 20 (Thursday – Day 1): Maseru City parade followed by Time Trials. Silver, Bronze, and Iron riders head out of the city toward the mountains; Gold Class will run their Time Trial later in the day around the Music Box race village.
-
November 21 (Friday – Race Day 1): Start and finish at Music Box with two DSPs on the route.
-
November 22 (Saturday – Race Day 2): Final showdown at Music Box, one DSP, and podium ceremony for all classes.
Routes and Spectator Experience
After last year’s route issues, the organisers have doubled their efforts. Route Director Graham Maclachlan and his team have spent months testing and refining the tracks for all classes. They promise world-class sections, weather-ready backup plans, and great viewing points for spectators.
