Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has officially signed Edgar Canet to compete in the 2025 Dakar Rally. The young Spanish rider will join the team in the Rally2 category, bringing fresh energy and determination to the prestigious event. With guidance from seasoned teammates Kevin Benavides, Daniel Sanders, and Luciano Benavides, Canet is set to make his Dakar debut in January.
A Promising Talent on the Rise
At just 19, Edgar Canet has had an impressive journey through the rally circuit. His 2024 season included standout performances in the Rally Portugal, Rallye du Maroc, Desafio Ruta 40, Oasis Rally, and Baja Aragon, all of which helped him qualify for Dakar 2025. Making his world championship debut at Rally Portugal, Canet stunned the field by finishing third in the prologue stage and securing 11th overall, along with a podium in the Rally2 class.
Now preparing for his first Dakar experience, Canet’s primary focus is to complete the race and gain valuable knowledge for the future. Having trained extensively with his teammates in America and adapted seamlessly to the KTM 450 RALLY bike, he is ready to take on the challenge.

Training with Luciano, Kevin, and Daniel in the USA has been amazing—they’ve taught me so much. I feel confident on the KTM 450 RALLY, which I know is a winning bike.
