Chase Sexton’s relentless pursuit of the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship continued at Budds Creek, where he secured his fifth consecutive victory, putting him within reach of the 450MX crown as the season nears its conclusion. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing teammate Aaron Plessinger also delivered a strong performance, finishing third overall, while Tom Vialle returned to the 250MX podium with a solid runner-up finish.
Sexton, riding the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, set the pace by qualifying quickest and went on to secure second place in the first moto. Despite an early crash in Moto 2, he managed to recover and take the lead in the final laps, securing his ninth podium of the series. This victory extends Sexton’s lead in the championship standings to 28 points with just one round remaining.
Reflecting on his performance, Sexton said, “Like I said last weekend, I feel like I made improvements over the break. First motos, I don’t know why, they’ve been tough for me and I just haven’t had the flow, and then by the second moto they come around. I didn’t make it easy on myself when I fell over, but it was a good race and that second moto was awesome with a really good flow and aggression. It was hard, but I had fun! Looking forward to next weekend.”
Plessinger has been in impressive form throughout the season, making it three consecutive podium finishes at Round 10. After qualifying in sixth position, Plessinger led portions of the first moto, finishing third. He maintained his momentum in Moto 2, securing another third-place finish and solidifying his third position in the championship standings.
