In the latest episode of 2 Wheel Tuesday on CW2 Training Live, Webb addressed questions from fans and shared the reasons behind his move from Sherco to Yamaha. He also provided updates on his new setup and how things are progressing so far.
From Sherco to Yamaha: Why the Change?
After five years with Sherco, Webb felt it was time for a change. He expressed his respect for Ron, the owner of Sherco, but also highlighted some of the challenges that come with working for a smaller company.
“It was a common theme of over-promising and under-delivering,” Webb said. “At the end of the day, you need the right people in the right positions to make the right decisions.”
Despite the move, Webb continues to wish Sherco the best and remains grateful for his time with the brand. He also admitted to feeling a bit guilty about fans who followed his lead and purchased Sherco bikes.
“In the last two weeks since the announcement, six people have sent me photos or messages showing off their new YZ250s. It’s amazing to see that support!”
Building the Ultimate Yamaha for Hard Enduro
Webb is fully immersed in the Yamaha project, documenting every step of the process in a video added to this post. From suspension setups to tire choices, he is working to create the perfect machine for hard enduro. Here are some highlights from his current setup:
- Suspension: Webb is fine-tuning the suspension with Race Tech components and support from a local expert. He’s testing various adjustments to find the ideal balance for hard enduro.
- Tires: Webb is sticking with IRC Tires, specifically the JX8 for the rear and GX30 for the front.
- Parts and Upgrades: While some components are sponsored, Webb has purchased many parts himself to ensure the setup is practical and replicable for fans.
“The market support for Yamaha is incredible. There are so many options, and I’m focused on finding the sweet spot between performance and value.”

Webb plans to share a detailed cost breakdown of the entire process. With more testing ahead, his journey to perfect the Yamaha setup is gaining momentum.
