Trystan Hart came into the 2025 Red Bull Erzbergrodeo with one goal in mind — to conquer the Iron Giant. Known as one of the most demanding hard enduro races in the world, Erzberg has always held a special place in Trystan’s heart. It’s not just another race for him. It’s the one he wants more than any other.
From the very beginning, it was clear the day wouldn’t be easy. A tough start left Trystan fighting from behind, trying to recover ground while 49 other elite riders battled through the same brutal terrain. Despite the early challenges, he pushed hard, made progress, and climbed his way up to third place. Everything seemed back on track — until it wasn’t.
Near the final stretch of the race, disaster struck. Trystan’s front sprocket bolt came loose and cost him over 15 minutes and two critical positions. It was a heartbreaking twist of fate in a race he had given everything for.
“This is the last thing on my list that I really want,” Trystan shared before the race. “If I want it, I can make it happen.”
And make no mistake — he still delivered an incredible performance. Finishing in fifth place, despite the mechanical issue, showed just how much grit, determination, and endurance he brought to the mountain that day.
The conditions were unforgiving. Extreme heat, hours of waiting in the pit, and four hours of intense racing made Erzberg feel more like a survival test than a race. For Trystan, though, it’s exactly that kind of challenge that makes this event so special — and so personal.
“Not ideal circumstances,” he said, “but they never are. You just have to work with what you’ve got.”
His disappointment was real. But so was his resolve.
“I’ll be back,” he promised.
And if history is any indicator, when Trystan Hart comes back, he comes back stronger.
