Hispania Rally, in mourning
Sad day for the bivouac. The charismatic Spanish rider Alberto Martínez has died today because of a traffic accident as soon as the stage of the day begins. Stage 3 was canceled due to the fatal outcome.
The rider Alberto Martínez (9/26/1977) has lost his life today due to a traffic accident at kilometer 2.93 of the stage. Specifically, the outcome has taken place on the A-92 highway. It was a laison section (non-competitive) before the arrival of the competitive specials.
On the occasion of the fatal loss, stage three has been canceled.
Alberto Martínez, better known as “Albertito Carpediem” by all friends and motor enthusiasts, was a charismatic Basque rider and loved by the rest of the rally scene. His loss leaves a great void.
