Following the decision of Red Bull KTM not to renew the contract of two-time Dakar winner and former Rally-Raid World Champion Toby Price, the Australian legend will no longer be racing for Red Bull KTM.
Speaking about KTM’s decision, Price says “KTM has decided not to renew my contract, so Dakar 2024 was the last event I did with them… I still feel like I’m in my prime and especially fighting for victories in Dakar, so it’s unfortunate not to have the opportunity to do that in 2025, but I’m really grateful for the support they’ve given me throughout my career.”
This decision follows a significant setback for the Red Bull KTM Rally team, who faced a major defeat from Honda in the 2024 Dakar Rally. Toby Price’s fifth-place finish this year was influenced by various challenges encountered by the KTM, Husqvarna, and GASGAS teams in Saudi Arabia, along with notable errors made during the event, ultimately contributing to Honda’s victory. Additionally, 2024 signifies a shift for Red Bull KTM, as they opted to compete in selected events rather than entering the entire FIM World Rally-Raid Championship, with their sights set on Dakar 2025.
Price, while still eager to compete in rally dominances where experience is crucial, has not yet made any statements regarding his future career moves.
