For the 2nd Akrapovic SuperTest of the season, the Moto Club of Spoleto has shaped the test in the bed of a river in the heart of the city. Enduro is a popular sport in Italy. The Tifosi came to support their many local riders. The rule was to respect the social distanciation and the sanitary regulations created by the EnduroGP promoter. The fans have seen a great show.
The 1st surprise of the evening came from the leader of the championship Steve HOLCOMBE (GBR-Beta) only P18 at 6 seconds from the best time. Suffering from a slight technical issue on his bike, the Brit couldn’t find the right pace. Brad FREEMAN (GBR-Beta) 1:35.30 was not pleased with his result P5 at 2 seconds from the best time.
5 italians are ranked in the top 10: Rudy MORONI (KTM) 1:37.39 is P10, Alex SALVINI (Honda) 1:36.06 is P9, Andrea VERONA (TM) 1:35.30 P6, Thomas OLDRATI (HONDA) 1:34.44 P4.
On the podium of the Akrapovic SuperTest we find Jaume BETRIU (ESP-KTM) 1:33.99 who confirms his good rhythm from the French GP. P2, Loic LARRIEU (FRA-TM) 1:33.15 shows that he will be a pain in the neck for the Italians on their home GP. The last Italian in the Top 10 is the winner Matteo CAVALLO (Sherco) 1:32.74. The Sherco rider has shown a very impressive pace and is full of hope and ambitions for his home race.
Junior class goes to Ruy BARBOSA (CHL-Husqvarna) 1:35.89 from Hamish MACDONALD (NZ-Sherco) 1:36.10 and Wil RUPRECHT (AUS-Beta) 1:36.32.
Sergio NAVARRO (ESP-Husqvarna) 1:37.88 takes the best time in the Youth Cup as Goncalo REIS (POR-KTM) 1:41.39 has set the pace in the Open class.
Tomorrow is a very tricky and hard day on the menu for the riders of the Borilli EnduroGP. 3 laps and around 8 hours on the bike. 1st bike out at 9:00 in the morning.
