The British rider sets the first-day pace as Red Bull 111 Megawatt gets underway.
It’s full steam ahead for the Red Bull 111 Megawatt as the Polish Hard Enduro blasts into life at Europe’s largest coal mine.
With almost 1,200 riders ready and waiting to test their mettle against some of the toughest, sandiest terrain Poland has to offer, Saturday’s prologue quickly sorted the men out from the boys.
As the reigning two-time Red Bull 111 Megawatt champion, Jonny Walkercame out swinging, to sit himself at the top of the provisional time sheets.
Always strong in the sand, Walker ended the opening day of competition four seconds clear of Wade Young and Ben Herrera.
“I alway love riding at this place, there’s a real mix of terrain,” told Walker. “You’ve got the motocross style test, which is absolutely flat out in places, then the endurocross test, which is majorly technical, especially in the soft sand.
