With a third place finish in San Juan de Marcona, Joan Barreda keeps hold of the lead in the general standings. The Honda rider now leads Matthias Walkner by one and a half minutes.
Joan Barreda: It’s always difficult. On this kind of stage everybody is really fast along the lines, so it is exiting to start like this but sometimes it can be dangerous. We always need to take care. But finally I think I rode a good stage, I’ve got a good feeling and am ready for more stages”.
Toby Price has good recovery of scaphoid break and got the 4th place in stage 2 ranking!
